Facets are useful for exploring the WorldCat Live! stream by extracting the most frequently occuring terms from multiple dimensions for use
as filter values, or for trend analysis and vsiualization. The parameter that controls faceting is:
- Specifies the source of the extracted terms.
The fifty most frequently occuring terms are returned for individually specified facets, in decreasing order of frequency. The terms are extracted
from records from the specified starting point to the current live edge of the stream.
When all facets are requested, 25 terms are returned for each.
Faceting can be combined with filtering, in which case those records that match the filter contribute terms to the facet(s).
